Why there is no breakdown by district
The source gives a district for every birth, and it is tempting to read it as the neighbourhood a child grew up in. It is not: Berlin registers a birth where the child was born, so the district follows the hospital. Tempelhof-Schöneberg records 31,184 births over these years and Reinickendorf 2,474, for two districts of much the same size - a difference in maternity wards, not in naming.
